"Hi guys, my name is Steven Merchant and I'm the Head of Department for Middle School at Mackay Northern Beaches State High. I work with the Year 9 and 10 students. My why of why I wanted to become a teacher and particularly work in my position is because I'm in a pivotal point within the school community where I can make a complete change to our students and their lives because not every student comes to our school with food, a roof over their head, everything like that and with my position I can make a change to better that student's life."
