"One of the things I love about teaching, and I've been involved in lately is Junior Machining and Safety JMS. I made the whole subject from scratch, I made the unit, I planned it, resourced it. The whole nine yards. It's so satisfying, and the kids love it. We make quality products that are actually useful for the students. We made a puzzle in one class, a chopping board from hardwood in another and an esky in another class. Kids love making things, so anything hands on is good for them, and for me making things that are not going to get thrown away is awesome because I hate waste. It's the best things about teaching. Working with someone who wants to learn, and when they have achieved something, they are so proud of their result. It's awesome.
